Hamish
https://www.fbhvc.co.uk/drive-it-day So what are people planning to do in a COVID secure way of course ?
Lebro
A few of us (who happen to be in the Thames Valley group) are independantly going for an outside pub lunch at a pub we used to frequent pre Covid. It's not a meeting though. Bob
Misfit
My daughter, son in law, wife and self intend taking two TR’s for a run, the route to be agreed.
RobH
Sadly my car is less fit for drive-it day than it was this morning. Courtesy of a single-track road, a 90 degree corner and a Peugeot coming the other way, my off side front wing is not the shape it was even though the actual coming together happened at no more than walking pace. You should have seen the other guy though..... The car is still perfectly driveable so I might still be out. It just doesn't look very pretty. Obviously when the car was refurbished back in 1980 they used skim filler as there was a fair amount which has come detached.
Mick Forey
A few of us from the Leicestershire group will be going to Chatsworth House for a picnic in the grounds. Staying well apart in a small groups. Mick
John Morrison
Off along the Solway Coast, maybe 3 or 4 cars with a picnic in teh boot! John, Oh and The Drive-it-Day Rally Plate!
openroad
Definitely taking the TR out, but don't know where yet. Have fun, Conrad.
Peter Cobbold
If I can get a younger family to help free-off a frozen clutch he'll be encouraged to drive the 6 up and down the track.

RobH
Yes I think it will keep, Peter. It would be a pity to waste the summer now we can get out-and-about again.

Rob that’s sad news i hope it’s easily fixed and you can enjoy the car for the summer .
brenda
We’re on a short run on Sunday. COVID-19 safe 3 cars at a time timed out meet up at picnic area but not hanging around no large groups. Mike Redrose group
RobH
Thanks Hamish. I've pushed the wheel arch back into shape as far as I can and it'll do for now. Luckily it's only the outer wing which suffered. It now has a strange sort of flare to the arch and a largish dent at the front. Ruined the aerodynamics
TorontoTim
We are under strict lockdown here ...but there's nothing that says I can't take my TR out for essential purchases.

All the best with eventually getting it back to better than new...... (Peugeot have built some ugly bruisers over the years)
MilesA
Checking the route to Enginuity as I spotted a tiny weep from the seam of the old brake / clutch fluid reservoir yesterday when giving it a once over for Sunday. Miles
iain
Hoping, for the first time since rebuilding the chassis ( and engine) to take VHP for short shake down run around the lanes. It’s been a while, lockdown 1 being responsible for the crazy idea to separate and rebuild.
Hamish
Good luck iain. I hope it all goes back together smoothly and works like a dream.
Gordon Bayley
Ive not got the TR out for 6 months, so Drive It Day will give me the incentive, A few local miles then a pub lunch.
Hamish
Think I’ll take the hardtop off and go for a run out. oh and cross out the numbers Edited April 24, 2021 by Hamish
acaie
I will be out and about and it's possible that my TR7v8 may develop a strange list to the left as I go past a pub at lunchtime. Does anyone else anticipate this strange problem?
john.r.davies
More like a sudden and unaccountably self-curing misfire? I'm out in the race 2.5L TR Vitesse, sponsored by my neighbours and hopefully by people why see me on the way, for the Drive It Day charity, the NSPCC's Childline:
acaie
Mine is definitely a steering problem. Sorry to hear about your engine concerns. Edited April 24, 2021 by acaie

BRENDA1
We’re out tomorrow for a short run, hopefully no problems with the car pulling to the left or stoping just before the pub. But it will still end up at a pub for lunch as we’re booked in. Hope all that are out have a great day. Mike Redrose Group
