Efuentes
Hi all. I was having high idle issues, so I changed carburetor spindles, which were visibly worn and creating vacuum leaks, and replaced jets and needles. After reassembling, I could, at last, get a good idle speed and my car is running well. No misfires or hesitation, good temperature, no running on when I cut ignition. Still idle is a bit rough, like one cylinder is not firing well, so I removed the spark plugs to check mixture. I am thinking about replacing the spark plugs anyway but, while at it, I thought I could share the picture of the electrodes and get your opinion on whether they look OK. Left is the front cylinder, right the back cylinder (cyls 1,2,3 and 4, left to right). From my limited knowledge, cyls 3and 4 look a bit lean, cyl 3 is a bit soothe, and cyl 1 just about right. Do you agree?. I am running Champion L87YC. Do you recommend any other which can be an improvement? (Please note I live in Spain, so probably better to run a bit cooler plugs down here vs UK or Germany). Many thanks in advance and stay safe

BlueTR3A-5EKT
That red tint may indicate the ignition being over advanced. Peter W
Efuentes
I don’t hear any pinking under acceleration, the car pulling nicely from low RPMs. What are other symptoms of over advance?. Besides, I presume that over advance would tend to affect all four cylinders. I will check static advance, anyway
