Hexagon headed ACME threaded wing screws

Can anyone answer a couple of questions about the original hexagon headed acme screws used to hold the wings on TR4-6.  I have no sample at all now as I sold all my bulk stocks in the last year and have just been quizzed by someone.

1.  Was the head spanner size always 7/16" af? - I think it was. (I know AH 100-4/6/3000 used BSF spanner size and the moderns use 10 mm)

2.  Is it better to have them 3/4" long ( as supplied by Moss etc today)  instead of the mix of 5/8" long and 3/4" long the parts books refer to? (Alan Wadley always said - you do only ever see the head and the extra 1/8" of thread eases engagement when fitting panels on your own)

...and the most important as it is very visible on a TR6 front wing.

3.  What shape was the end of the hexagon head?  Was it flat as supplied today or was it with a pressed in depression, and were there any markings? - see photo for examples of both type.

Yes yes and yes depressed with markings, these recovered from a low mileage TR5

The washers were also distinctive.  Some modern reproductions are not the same.

Can you post a photo of the screw head please.

Yes that washer with the offset centred hole is correct, as against a penny washer with one edge clipped off.
