Another scam to be aware of - Tampering with car for sale - Distraction

Recommended Posts

Abridged version, 3 blokes come to see your car for sale. 1 distracts you while the others unplug sensor in the engine bay and put oil in the water and air cleaner.

Result: blue smoke and engine management light.

Here's another, I think:

Just had an email, from one, "Scott Wilson:

"Greetings John, I hope this message finds you well and safe.

I'm not sure if I got the correct address.

Jim Turner gave me your contact information, he's a member of the British Car Club Of America.

I'm looking to buy an European classic car such as British, German or Italian.

Jim thinks you may have or know about a one for sale.

Actually, I'm restoring my Dad's 1982 Ferrari GTB. I'll consider any condition.

Please let me know, I'll not be wasting your time.

Sincerely,

Scott Wilson

First I can find no such thing as the "British Car Club of America", and I don't know a Jim Turner. So I suppose that this is a scam. If there is a real Scott Wilson and he wants my advice, I apologise, please contact me again, but meanwhile your message is deleted.
