Cream Tea reward

Recommended Posts

This morning I had my first vaccine (over 55 age group)

I know I don’t look old enough !!!!!

I was very brave so my wife has rewarded me with a cream tea for lunch :D

home made scones too.
working from home has the odd benefit.

If only the cream and the jam were the correct way round. I know you have affiliations with Devon so will forgive you but the Cornish way is so much better.

PS have you ever tried raspberry jam on your Turkey sandwiches on Boxing Day, quite tasty :o

That reminded me of Janet, the housekeeper in “Doctor Findlay’s Casebook”.

At breakfast she used to say:

“Would you like a poached egg on your kipper, doctor?”

I always assumed it was some sort of innuendo, but never quite worked out what.

Charlie.

:D , my mum always had a poached egg on smoked haddock, she was of Scottish decent too.

I think my next one

may be my Nutella variant (previously discussed elsewhere)

Very Brave of you Hamish, but nice to have a reward , no matter how its presented, surely must taste the same.

I had my Jab, made myself a cuppa, no scone. Several hours later was pretty much in Bed and struggling  !

Aren't we Brave  !!!

That would be 'man jab'. A bit like 'man flu' but much much worse

Had my jab today as well. With a similar reward but as discussed elsewhere, today was a Cornish day.:)

p.s. Cholesterol levels are rising nicely as I continue my quest to find the answer as to which way round the jam and clotted cream should be.

Tough job but someone or should I say a few of us have to do it.

You miss the point Hamish second jab and not a sniff of a cream tea or even a biscuit.

Hamish

i had my over 55 jab this afternoon as well.  Got a phone call from the local doctor offering a cancellation so took it - no affect so far.
I’m jealous of your cream tea but jam on first is the way to go in my opinion.  I do have to add that a true Cornish pastie is infinitely better than the rubbish you get elsewhere.

My favourite (apocryphal) Janet quotes:

"Ooh, Doctor Cameron, ah've a terrible heartburn"

"Nonsense Janet, and get yer t*t oot o' ma porridge"

And

"So Janet, have ye ever bin bed-ridden before?"

"Oh aye Doctor money a time and twice in the back o' a cairt"
