Dear All,

Is there any perceived wisdom I need to know about before fitting my windscreen fitting kit?

These are the plasticy trim bits that go on the inside of the screen.

For example, do I fit this kit before the screen is fitted, or afterwards?

Thank you for any nuggets that may help me avoid painful errors.

Thanks everyone.

Dave.

The moulded ones are very nice, fit them before the windscreen as they fit over the lip, just use plenty of lube when fitting the screen rubber so it slips over them Ok and use a good glue too.

Hi Dave,

I used masking tape on the front  which covered up and protected the paint work before I used hi heat resistant spray trim adhesive.

All good fun!

Regards Harry

Use brush on glue then you dont need to mask ;)

Anyone used a roll of appropriate black stretch vinyl rather than the plastic offerings which seem quite fragile?

They are supposed to be like that, thats exactly as original and as theyre vacuum formed they fit well and once the screen is fitted they just look "Right" its difficult to make vinyl look as good due to its thickness and it makes it more difficult to fit the screen rubber.
