Hamish
I have seen these used in competition big red warning light comes on at 15-20lbs anyone know how to set one up on our 4 pot engines ? what switch and where to bolt it and the electrickery bit. H
Ian Vincent
I have enough to worry about without an extra light but I would probably use the front oil gallery plug/set screw. I guess the switch closes when the pressure drops below a certain value so just put the warning bulb in series with the switch with the other terminal connected to your positive (assuming negative earth). But be warned this advice comes from a civil engineer so electricity isn't my strong point. Rgds Ian

H Here is the adjustable switch https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/adjustable-low-oil-pressure-warning-switch-35psi-set-m-ops-35 Take out one of the gallery plugs and, thorough drill and thread it 1/8 npt to accept the switch Screw back where it came from. Hamish
Not sure I like the idea of drilling the block. But that front bolt/ plug looks a good place.
Lebro
No, you drill the bolt which you removed from the oil gallery. Bob
stuart
The bolt hole is the same thread as a standard oil pressure switch so just a straight swap. Stuart.

So what is the thread of the bolt ? Can’t you just swap out the bolt for the switch ?

Lebro
The switch is 1/8" pipe thread, which is pretty small. Bolt is bigger - ¼ or 5/16" dia. Bob.

Bleednipple
On my TR4 I put a T piece into the oil pipe to the existing pressure gauge and put the sensor in that. It avoided faffing about with the block. I got the T piece and associated gubbins from my local hydraulic equipment shop. Nigel
