I have enough to worry about without an extra light but I would probably use the front oil gallery plug/set screw.  I guess the switch closes when the pressure drops below a certain value so just put the warning bulb in series with the switch with the other terminal connected to your positive (assuming negative earth).  But be warned this advice comes from a civil engineer so electricity isn't my strong point.

Here is the adjustable switch  https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/adjustable-low-oil-pressure-warning-switch-35psi-set-m-ops-35

Take out one of the gallery plugs and, thorough drill and thread it 1/8 npt to accept the switch   Screw back where it came from.

Not sure I like the idea of drilling the block. But that front bolt/ plug looks a good place.

The bolt hole is the same thread as a standard oil pressure switch so just a straight swap.

No, you drill the bolt which you removed from the oil gallery.

Bob

Ah I get it now. So what is the thread of the bolt ? Can’t you just swap out the bolt for the switch ?

The switch is 1/8" pipe thread, which is pretty small.

Bolt is bigger - ¼ or 5/16" dia.

Bob.

Last one I fitted was a straight swap, just a usual Intermotor one.

That is easier, I was going by the info the Peter gave on his adjustable one.

Bob.

Quite possibly with an adjustable one, Ive never seen an adjustable one before so couldnt comment.

So something like this ?

and would only need the live feed via warning light ? As it’s self earthed ?

Morning H this is the one I was looking at to fit to my TR a little more expensive than the one your looking at but a least it should fit with the correct thread.

Found my spare gallery plugs.

They are 7/16” unc with 1/2” long thread.

simple adaptor for switch with 1/8” x 27 npt threaded male fitting.  Note  1/8 bsp is 28 tpi.

is a 1 1/2” length of 3/4 hex bar thread 7/16” unc one end 1/2” long.

reverse in Chuck.
Drill through with 1/8”
Tapping drill for 1/8 npt (8.7mm) 1” deep. Tap to thread depth and test switch screws in hole.

Turn off 1/2”  of the hex to give more pleasing look leaves 1/2” of hexagon for spanner.

fit adaptor in block using copper crush/seating washer.

On my TR4 I put a T piece into the oil pipe to the existing pressure gauge and put the sensor in that. It avoided faffing about with the block. I got the T piece and associated gubbins from my local hydraulic equipment shop.
