Mike C
I had to loosen mine with a brass drift. I suspect the same had been used by a PO to tighten it.

mrehke
Nige - How about fitting the Moss Overdrive Plug tool, then giving the handle of the tool a very sharp "tap" - this should "shock" it into moving...I have undone nuts torqued up to near 100 lbft with this method. Alternative try putting an extension peice (scaffolding pole or similar) onto the tool's handle to give you more leverage... No need for the gym! Good luck - Mark
mrehke
The "tap" is carried out by using a copper hide lump hammer onto the shaft of the tool in the direction of thread to undo. Sometimes by trying to do the thread up just a smidge before trying to undo it also loosens up any crud and can help too...
Waldi
My GB/OD was reconditioned by a well known specialist over here, it is leaking on the GB drain plug (new plug) and on the OD drain plug. Next time I remove them I will see how I can eliminate these. The remainder of the GB/OD flanges does not leak. If there a better alternative for the large fibre washer?
