TR6 flange nut to inner axle shaft

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Can the 5/8"x15/16" nyloc nut on the differential inner axle of the shaft flange be substituted for the castellated nut also 5/8"x15/16" .

Also is the washer a special one i.e  collapsible.

Thanks,

Kind Regards

If you mean item 63.   You will notice that a split pinned slotted nut was also used

 moss catalogue  https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/triumph/tr5-6/clutch-transmission-drivetrain/axles-differentials/rear-axle-tr5-6-1967-76.html

There are no adjustable or collapsible spacers in the side shafts

PS  the slotted nut is the same as used on classic Mini front driveshaft to hub attachment.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your response.  I forgot, if I use the castellated nuts a hole would have to drilled in the shaft for the split pin
