MilesA
Spotted this car at the side of a fairly run down (but occupied) suburban house close to me in north London. 1950's saloons are not my thing. Looks a bit like Mark VI Bentley but the rear roof and door line and boot do not look right. Pictures in Google are invariably taken from the front / sides, so not a huge help. So, what are your thoughts? Miles

There does look to be a touch of the Bentley pedigree lurking in there somewhere. (Here's a '55 R-Type saloon). Deggers Edited January 19, 2021 by Deggers
openroad
I wonder how many have asked if they could buy it , and been turned away. Such a shame , go and work your charm , Miles ... Conrad.
Charlie D
The R type and Mk6 shared the same basic chassis which was very popular in the 1970’s for building 1930’s style specials on. Even if the body was totally rotted away you could make something nice out of the running gear. A friend of mine once spotted one for sale in the window of a petrol station. “How much is it? “ he enquired. “5” said the sales man. “£500 is a bit high” said my friend. The salesman laughed. “No.” He said, “by 5 I mean 5000. It is a Bentley after all.” My friend replied. “Err… Yes… I know that. I’ve actually got one, and I know what they are worth.” The salesman coughed a bit and said. “How about £475” That was 50 years ago. I do think they are worth a bit more now. Charlie.
