Hi Eddie,

I have a used dash top (from TRshop 20+ years ago) that is in very good condition.

Would you be interested in it.  I would like £80 but am open to offers.    You only pay if you like it.

I could send pics if necessary

Why did you change it Roger?

Over the years the two eyebrows over the gauges/glove box were riding up.

So I bought a replacement.  Upon removing it I found the problem. I had not relieved the white foam at the cage nuts before fitting.

As time passed the foam TRied to expand back to its original shape - thus lifting the eyebrows.

I could have refitted it.  The exposed surface is total clean and undamaged.

Hi - I did mine a few months ago, I think it worked out ok.

Bought vinyl on flea bay for about £10.00 (tried a few samples to get what I wanted) a few attempts were made and peeled off before I was satisfied with the results.

I also trimmed the switch plinth and the H frame - not happy with it so I’ll revisit it.

I would recommend using Evostick spray contact adhesive and getting a hot air gun (mine was from Screwfix) and just try it, you have little to lose and it’s quite satisfying and frustrating at the same time!

let me know if you need more info or photos.

cheers Neil

Hi Neil,

did you TRy to trim the 'H' dash support in one piece?

That would be very difficult if not impossible. I TRied and TRied but ended up with a different approach.  The TRims that you can buy from the likes of Jon Skinner are done in four pieces and sewn together.     The lump the surrounds the gear stick is done in three pieces

The dash top would be much easier.

I used the AF176 https://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/product/1332/adhesive  contact adhesive from Woolies.

+1 for the hot air gun to speed up the drying process.

Roger
