I hope that this is not a stupid question but, firstly, is it safe to support a wire wheeled car by putting a suitable 2 ton axle stand under each of the 4 adaptor splines with suitable cushioning ?

Secondly is this also an acceptable way of having the suspension loaded in order to finally tighten the suspension fixings?

Putting the supports here gives a much larger uninterrupted area for working underneath.

Many thanks,

Tim

I wouldnt. I would drive it round the block several times to get it levelled up and then either get it over a pit or on a full 4 post ramp or if none available run it up on ramps just high enough to access.

Good enough for me then!

Thanks,

Although if you leave the wheel nut on it would be challenging to kit the axle stand out..
