openroad
Just wondered if this was fitted to TRs, Saloons ? Not a great picture , but shows what's needed ! Cheers, Conrad.
RogerH
Hi Conrad, I see it is already set to channel eleven - that should be good. Roger
RobH
Well 11 is one more than 10........ Those look like medium-wave markings in kiloHertz. (540 to 1600). Who would have bought a MW only set ? Surely not UK market ?
Charlie D
I think that “AM only” radios were popular in the USA in the 1970’s, which is where I would guess this radio came from. Apparently there were not so many FM stations in the States until the early 1980’s, and so AM was all that was needed. I don't think they bothered with LW in the cars, so they had Medium Wave only. 15 hours ago, RobH said: Well 11 is one more than 10....... An interesting fact is that Volume controls only ever went up to 10, until a bloke who made amplifiers for Spinal Tap made an improved amplifier that was so loud that the dial had to go up to 11. saffrontr
Its a US market one Conrad and variants of this manufactured by either Bendix or Audiovox were indeed fitted to the TR6 by the Triumph Dealers in the USA. I have to say that I have been looking for one for a while. cheers Derek
