I have a pair of HS6 Carbs from a 2500 TC Saloon Type FZX1263.

I would like to fit them to a TR4A motor (which should have AUD 209). I have replaced the needles (flexible (Top Hat)) from BOB with BAQ (nearest available match to TW according to mintylamb).

Do I need to change the jets?

Any advice welcome please as I am all at sea here!

Have a look on the SU website

This will show the difference.  For instance the damper spring on the 2500 is Yellow and the TR4A is Red

Are not all SU jets the same size  for a given carb type? I believe HS6 have a 0.9mm jet

It is worth phoning Burlen Fuel Systems to confirm and get new ones as they do wear

George

Thanks

Will ask

I have an old book called "Tuning SU Carburettors" which includes a full set of application tables and specifications.

According to those tables a Triumph 2500TC was fitted with AUD 607F/R carbs which are HS4s not HS6.  The jet size was 0.090".  The standard needle was ABU.

CORRECTION - my book is very old!  the 1976 2500 TC used HS6 carbs.

According to the same book, all HS6 carbs had a 0.100" dia jet.

If you need any further information, drop me a PM.
