Richardtr3a
I have been using Heldtite sealer for a number of years and I have just discovered that it has a problem with ethanol. What fuel proof sealer do other people use and find successful. I am watching the banjo connectors on the SU now. Lockdown is giving me too much time to worry about details. But I do want to go to Classic Le Mans next time , with my son-in-law who gets everything right and the TR must behave. There must be a Loctite product that people recommend. Thanks Richard & B. Ian Vincent
I used liquid PTFE on my fuel connections. Available from Screwfix and was effective. Needs about 3 hours for initial set and leave it overnight to set properly. Rgds Ian
John L
Copper washers of the correct dimensions, some want different sizes either side of the banjo or Dowty washers with the rubber on the inside should be all you need. John
Lebro
Yep, on the banjo's no sealant needed, just soft copper washers, & if they are not soft, then anneal them. (heat till starting to glow green, then dunk in water.) Bob.
RobTR3
I gave up on the banjo connectors on my SU's and bought new fuel bowl lids with the straight on brass pipe fittings. I use a short length of rubber hose with a jubilee clip to secure them to the fuel pipes. On the banjo fittings I tried new washers and used heldite but couldn't get them to seal reliably.
