pfenlon
My 1965 TR4 with all steel white dashboard, is missing the key to the cubby door lock. No number is visible on the lock itself. Would the number be the same as the ignition switch key? (which I don't have, but could get one for the ign sw shows its number.) RogerH
Ni Pete most UK cars had a common key for Ig, doors, boot and glove box. So you may be in luck. Many USA cars had separate keys for the boot and glove box from the Ig and doors for valet parking. Roger

pfenlon
Oops, no key number on the front of the USA TR4, ion barrel but these numbers are showing on the rear plastic face, and the alloy casing. Any clues please?
boxofbits
The long number looks like a part or batch number and 0584 is likely to be the date. It’d probably be a case of trying many keys or dismantling the tumblers. If you can remove the barrel the number might be stamped on it? stuart
If its got the original boot lock then it will be the same as that more likely, the number for that is stamped on the square extension bar that goes through the catch. To find the number on the ignition switch you can get the barrel out by inserting a rivet stalk through the hole in the side of the escutcheon threaded portion and depress the plunger inside. Stuart. Colin Symonds
Back in the 60s & 70s it was always said that any key fitted any Ford. On my TR4a the boot and cubby hole share a key as do the doors and ignition.
