chgohr Posted December 19, 2020 Report Share Posted December 19, 2020 I have acquired a 1976 TR6 from a friend who owned it many years. When the car was restored the vin tags were misplaced. How can I find out the original body number? The engine number is all I can find as of now. This is a US car. So far the registration has not been located either. Any help would be welcomed. foster461 Posted December 19, 2020 Report Share Posted December 19, 2020 Hi and welcome. The engine number alone is not a lot to start with as it may not be the original engine. The commission plate would have been on the driver side B post but I assume all you have now is the holes from the rivets. Best hope is that the PO can find the title or an old inspection report.
