Are the early Spitfire and TR4 upper steering columns the same.

According to Triumph spare Parts Catalogue the TR4 upper outer column No 131503 was unique to the TR4 IE the catalogue indicates that it was not used on other models

The Spitfire inner column is longer.

As it is a steel tube with a spline and thread at one end, you could create a TR4 one from a Spitfire one if you cut in the clamp slot identically positioned to the TR one.

Thanks guys.....I am intending to fabricate an EPAS steering column for one of my TR4's, and have found a Spitfire column that I can use.

I supposed that, and yes, I guess that works.

There is one for 29 GBP at the moment at eBay.
