pfenlon
The Kenlowe variomatic temp controller, fits through a Bracket, and should be secured with a nut. I don't have the nut, its not imperial or metric, diameter reads 3/8" exactly on the vernier. Can the thread size be one you know please.
jerrytr5
Is it metric with an unusual pitch perhaps? Jerry
RogerH
Hi Pete, have you got the TPI ? Roger
BlueTR3A-5EKT
BSF or Model Engineer ME ? Edited December 3, 2020 by BlueTR3A-5EKT
jerrytr5
Very fine pitch. M10 x 1.0 is my best estimate. Jerry
RobH
If its exactly 3/8 diameter then most likely it is imperial. Choices at that size are: UNC or BSW - 16 threads per inch BSF - 20 tpi UNF - 24 tpi BSB - 26 tpi UNEF or ME - 32 tpi There is also an alternative ME thread at 40 tpi but it's unlikely that a commercial firm would use Model Engineering threads. pfenlon
will try for the TPI thanks to everyone.
RobH
Quote: "Hello Roger, on counting its tween 24 and 25 TPI.." Between 24 and 25 tpi is probably 1mm pitch then. That means it may be 10mm Metric Fine thread but in that case the diameter should be bigger than the 3/8" you measured, as that is only 9.53mm. Perhaps it is M10 Fine which has been over-cut ? RogerH
3/8 x 24tpi = unf or Spark or Admiralty 3/8 x 26tpi - CEI or Brass and I'm sure there are more Roger
