elclem1
Hi All. does anyone know the difference between a TR4/A heater box and a TR5? I have one with two outlets whereas the tr5 has 4. cheers Clem
trchris
Hi Clem The 5and 6 has extra vents just under the dash both sides Chris
silverfox4
Stuart may step in on this one as apparently there are challenges with the Y-connection on the 5/6 for that extra outlet. I tried to install a an upgraded TR6 Clayton heater in the TR4A and could not get it to fit properly - conclusion is that the original 4a heater box suitably upgraded is best for the 4A. stuart
To give hot air to the eyeball vents and to delete the frankly useless cold air to footwells on a TR5 or 6 you can fit a "Y" piece into the hot air outlet from the heater to supply screen and eyeballs and blank the front cold air ones or use a 4a heater box, A 4/4a heater box only has the hot outlets anyway but you have the cold air side outlets coming direct from the plenum so you dont suffer the same rot problem in the plenum corners. If the matrix has been properly cleaned and all the foams replaced plus the heater valve upgrade then you will have a good heater. Stuart.
