DRD
Has anyone tried this stuff? Recently I've only used Shell V Power and the car runs really well. Just tried this Esso alternative and the car is continually pinking.
AndyR100
I have used it - I had always assumed it was the same as Tesco 99 which I am happy to fill up with. if it doesn’t suit your set up then i’d Go back to the Shell station ....Andy Edited November 24, 2020 by AndyR100

Shame as the Esso stuff was cheaper. Cheers Darren

Lebro
I use Esso Synergy in the TR all the time (No ethanol in my area) had no problems. Bob
iain
The article on petrol in the Devon groups “ In The Garage” was most informative on the subject of quality. https://www.tr-register.co.uk/group/devon/social-report/2020/11/1772/In-The-Garage-November-2020 Iain
Tony_C
Hi Darren, all, First up I’ve got to declare an ‘interest’ here..... However, the ESSO product is vastly superior....!

Tony_C
Might be worth a check if your ignition is set-up for the high octane?

peejay4A
Maybe try a fill from a different Esso station.

TRTOM2498PI
I put £20 of this high-octane fuel in my tuned TR6 on Sunday, and must admit, the amount of pops, crackles & flames were more noticeable than before on Tesco 99 fuel.
OldBob
The Esso high octane pumps were previously 97 RON and some stations in my area are still selling this off. So you have to wonder if they topped up the underground tanks with new 99 rather than emptying them? If so, it could take a while to get the full benefit of the 99. Anyone know how they are supposed to deal with a change like this? Bob
