qkingston
I have searched a number of threads and helpful sites for clarification on the seals required for gauge refurbishment but I can't find definitive instructions on which seal is used where. I purchased a set of the square section seals from one of the specialist suppliers at the NEC last year, but I can't see what we are supposed to use for the seal between glass and the gauge (both small and larger gauges), rather than the square section seal between the gauge and the wooden dash, any clues? Lebro
Glass goes direct onto gauge, but a rubber ring (I use an 'O' ring) goes between chrome bezel & glass, it tends also to bridge the gap between glass & gauge metalwork. Bob.
qkingston
Thanks Bob, I had seen reference to sponge cord seal in some places; the old gauges seem to have a residue of a soft rubber sealant between bezel and glass(maybe a defunct O seal?). So the square section seals definitely go between gauge and dash? David
