nigelcurry
Do I remove the above pin as I want to remove the door if so do you just file off the exposed pin between the A post and door edge as it looks to me as though it’s a rivet an d then open the door that little bit wider to give me more access to the door hinge bolts stay safe Nige
RogerH
Hi Nige, the rivet on the check strap was original fitment. Many are now a clevis pin with a split pin. Have a look at items 16 and 25 https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-model/triumph/tr5-6/body-chassis/doors-fittings/doors-fittings-tr5-6-1967-76.html Roger
nigelcurry
Ahh now it’s beginning to click into place for me ,so do I just open the door that bit wider when the pin is out and undo the six bolts securing the hinges to the door nige

RogerH
Hi Nige, the door is quite heavy. Place a jack under the middle of the door to take the weight. It is even more important when refitting the door. Place a thick blanket between the door and the 'A' post to protect both should it slip. Roger
