markaluge
Can anyone recommend a bush removal tool to get the old bushes out of the front fitting on the rear leaf springs? I don't want to have to invest in a press just to do the 2 bushes. I see on line that I can purchase a BMW tool to do the job, but cannot see if it the right size and so thought that I would ask what others have used in the past. Graham J
Mark, you can try 2 sockets and a vice. one socket large enough to accept the bush, the other one small enough to push through the eye of the spring. with at least four hands, get this all set up in the vice and gently tighten. May work. Graham
billy l
Yup as above. That's what I used. Cheers, Bill.
Lebro
Blowlamp, melt the rubber, then hacksaw a split to get the outer sleeve out. That's only if you can't press it out of course) Bob.
Dic Doretti
I would also go for the blowtorch method. The bush may have a very strong grip, I have seen Alfa Romeo trailing arms crack using a press, used a blowtorch after that, messy but stress free. Colin916
Burn the rubber out then use a hacksaw to remove the outer steel of the Bush.
markaluge
Many thanks guys. I had seen the blowtorch and hacksaw method on YouTube, which will be my backstop if I can't find a suitable puller.
