InfinityJon
Morning all, just in the process or rebuilding my 76 head. I’m putting a fast road cam in the block and have read that when using double springs, it is necessary to remove the lower inner spring collar. Is this correct? Is it ok to sit the inner spring directly on the head?

Is it ok to sit the inner spring directly on the head? Whose cam are you using? As a lot of cams do not need double springs as they lead to excessive wear on the lobs. There have been many tales of woe on this forum regarding cams especially reground ones? Here in the UK IMO I would only buy Newman Cams along with their EN40 cam followers, they have a good track record! Bruce.
