But what a disappoint that the car's unique history has all but been discarded ..aside from "the cut away mountings for the headlight shells".   Damson, or a close derivative to that colour, was used for production TR6's  ..and as the doors and other body parts were used through that design development - I might only wonder if that colour was proposed by / had been applied by Karmann.?  When back in Coventry and reverted to Michelotti TR4A form - then only the wings, bonnet and boot-lid would have needed bringing into line (colour wise) - that was cheaper than a complete car respray including under bonnet and door shuts back to factory green).   I note also that the interior trim has gone from damson / red back to black, and its painted wires to chrome ones.  With that restoration back to original TR4A spec, and the necessary replacement of every rubber part, the heater and electrics replaced ..All in all then - it's still the "same old broom from all those years ago".

Sad.
