The replacement tub has one tag left on it, can anyone estimate its build date, and which model?
Lebro
My early TR3 (late 1955 build, 1956 registered) has wood in there. TS 9551 brass tag No. 842442 Bob.
BlueTR3A-5EKT
No aeroscreen mount cage nuts on the later all steel bulkhead/scuttle so I guess post late 1958 (after TS33000) I do not know when they deleted the timber frame from the scuttle, it was before the retool at TS60000 (1960) when the doors got round corners and lost their wood. plus the bonnet and boot hinges got pressed raised plinths. Mike Graham
My 56 (TS11537) also has wood under the cowl. Not the best picture, but wood is can be seen along the edge. Cheers, Mike

What about the door opening supports? Graham
Mike Graham
I made the door opening supports from some angle iron bolted into upper hinge and door strike locations. Borrowed the rotisserie. My original plan was to try making one out of a couple of engine stands. Cheers, Mike

AJ2014
Graham According to Bill P's Book....see attached photo. Your replacement tub fits into the Sixth Group, so it's a May '58 to Jan '59 TR3a (Pre TS60000) shell. (Assuming that is the shells original tag) Cheers Ade June 1958 - Pre-drilled bolt mountings in scuttle top for fixing aero screens deleted. October 59 - All timber previously used in the body construction deleted Edited September 30, 2020 by AJ2014

I cannot open the photo so cannot see to what you are referring in Bill Ps book. Ralph. Ralph

Hello Ralph, this is correct for the wood in the doors, only. My TS40###L of Dec. 1958 has no wood in the tub, too...
