Ian Kydd
Anyone got any tips on fitting the door window glass into the rubber glazing strip and channel.
stuart
Hold the glass vertically on the bench with some cloth under the glass with the cutout section for the channel uppermost check how good a fit the channel is on the glass as it needs to grip you need a very small amount of clearance between it and the glass. fit the rubber into the channel and drape the water curtain over the glass (Make sure its the right way round) then fit the channel to the glass using a rubber hammer. Make sure the channel is the right way round and in the right place in the channel You may need to squeeze the channel up a little as it does really need to grip the glass. Stuart. trchris
Hi Ian I take it you mean the channel that the regulator runs in? once you have it in the correct position on the glass use white spirt as a lubricant as it will eventually evaporate and not leave any residue Chris
Paul J
I find a couple of small ratchet straps most helpful, one either end of the channel and around the the top of the glass making a endless loop, pulls the glass into the rubber nicely, with care obviously.
