Waldi
Hi David I lifted my TR6 body with 4 “pullers” connected to my garage roof where it was while I worked on the chassis. Wings etc. removed, braces installed (these were also used for lifting). I could rotate the bare body alone on it’s side, resting on an old mattress, to work on the underside. I feel 4 people is better for a more controlled lift. Or better: use an engine hoist with long beam. Waldi
Dave McDonald
David, Can't tell you what the actual weight is in Kilogrammes or Pounds but yes, 2 people can (in my case JUST) lift the shell without any panels but not very safely and not to be able to do much with it from the point of view of say lifting it off a chassis (particularly if it needs to be raised over the engine) or placing it back on the chassis. Best to use at least 4 people for balance and control or an engine crane or block and tackle or a 2 post/4 post lift. I lifted my TR5 shell off the chassis with my 2 post lift using straps and D shackles from the 4 lifting arms with 2 eye bolts in the rear wheelarch seat belt mounting bolts and 2 bespoke brackets on the front bulkhead using the pedal box mounting holes on one side and washer bottle mounting bolt holes on the other.
