little jim
To remove recalcitrant pedal cranks cyclists can buy a 'puller' (only costs about $14). (See arrow photo #1) In practice I found this saved at least 5 or 6 nanoseconds. Stripped about 1/2mm of metal from each side that I didn't have to cut through in phase two. (See photo #2) This particular bike appears to have the chain wheels swaged on to the pedal, so looks like I replace the chain wheels as well as the pedal shaft. (sigh!). RogerH
Hi LJ, I thought you had come up with a humane way to remove recalcitrant cyclists Roger

jerrytr5
And the problem with cyclists is what exactly? It is often more cost effective to replace the entire crank & chainwheel assembly, even with the separate chainwheels. If it hasn't been off for that long, you'll likely need to replace the bottom bracket too. Jerry
Tony_C
Good for you Jerry.... you a MAMIL? Having bikes myself, I’m particularly impressed by Jim’s full and comprehensive tool kit..... comprising both metric and proper well used imperial chisel...

Two abreast on narrow country lanes etc. and that's the motorists. Roger
