Continental CT22 tyres

Recommended Posts

Hi Roger,

thanks for the reply…it’s currently got Dunlop 165SR15 (86S) on painted wires at the moment but I reckon they’re at least 15 years old as I haven’t had time to get the engine top end back together since 2011 :o

As for budget, I’m not sure but it’d have to be a secret from my wife who is always scrutineering :-(

Thanks Sean, I’ve tried looking for them but can’t find any anywhere (unless google isn’t being my friend)

Blackcircles.com doT-trac2 tyres I have used this company before and had the tyres fitted by my local fitter as they have the cone for wire wheels.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply….I’ve just looked and they aren’t selling them in 165/15 size. Do you mind me asking what size you have and if you are running them on wires?

Cheers,

Andy sorry slight confusion. I have used this company for tyres and found them very good, they did this tyre when I was looking, just had a look again and they do them but not in 165! I decided on Michelin’s tyres in the end.

Andy, I think I may have bought the last five T-Trac 2 tyres in 165/80 R15, I tracked a set down to a European supplier as I couldn't find a set in the UK.  This was last August, Vredestein I believe had stopped making them in this size about then.  If buying now I would probably go for the CT22 or the Nankang (which my TR specialist dealer likes).

I know this will be of no comfort, but the T-trac 2 tyres are superb on my TR4a, with wires.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for the reply. I’ll have a look at the other options and make my choice when the time comes (have to get it running first and using a lot of the superb advice on this forum will help greatly).

Cheers,

Andy

Hi.

I fitted T-Trac 2 tyres to my 4a about 18 months ago. All seems well but I do have to put 34psi in them to make the steering feel less soggy, presumably because of the softer side walls than the the older Michelins that I had previously.

Regards

Barry

Just in case anyone's interested just changed the tyres on the 4a from 185 70 15 Vredestein classics to 165 80 15 Maxxis Mecotra ME3 (on to 5.5j minilites)

excellent price £46 each and £10 fitting charge car feels so much better in both ride and handling
