tr graham
Peter for everybody Ian sold the car to Germany in 1982 where it was looked after by a enthusiast who used the car sparingly , the enthusiast facilitated the purchase by myself and I repatriated the car late last year, it is extremely original with a documented low mileage graham

Waldi
Graham, your TR5 is much more attractive to me:) An old Unrestored TR250/5 is very nice, a pity they are becoming rarer. Cheers, Waldi

Cheers, Waldi Waldi thank you ! its a shame they stopped doing the 'wooden spoon' at the international as I'm pretty sure with a little work and a BIG hammer I could get it through an MOT, always remember a TR5 turning up at an international one year with a road sign riveted to the boot lid, sure it scooped the honours that year as well. Waldi
Hi Graham, let’s agree to agree:) I’be been on a famous Dutch festival (Paleis het Loo Concours d’elegance), my dear friend Bas who passed away last attended with his 1938 Jaguar SS, unrestored but running. I liked that “pile of old garbage” lined up side by side the most. Cheers, Waldi

MikeThomas
It didn't sell, highest bid was £70,000. Suspect reserve might have been £75,000 following comments from auctioneer. Edited August 1, 2020 by MikeThomas

tr graham
Reserve was 80k
Grasshopper
I'd say £70k was a very good bid. Wouldn't that be the record price for a TR5 - or pretty close? I looked through the auction lots and most seemed to have optimistic estimates on them especially considering all the uncertainty about ICE driven cars and that we're entering the biggest recession in history.
