leonnewman1 Posted June 26, 2020 Report Share Posted June 26, 2020 Hi, Can anybody please help me identify the make/type of my rear silencer and any suggestions for replacements. I managed to catch it on a speed bump yesterday and the dent that you can now see reverberates badly and creates an awful noise. It has a phoenix manifold so is this perhaps a phoenix big bore? NigelH Posted June 26, 2020 Report Share Posted June 26, 2020 Hi You might want to check if the bump has lifted the pipe at the front of the silencer and its catching in the entry to the cross section on the chassis, hence the reverb noise? Has the silencer split at the front weld? (just to the left of the trolley jack pad, mid way up picture) Nigel. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
mike3md Posted June 27, 2020 Report Share Posted June 27, 2020 The silencer looks OK to me (mine has similar battle scars), I suspect Nigel has it - the pipe before the silencer is now hitting/touching the chassis somewhere.
