Gareth Davies
Hi I am taking the body off my TR4A and I am looking to brace the door openings before staring. Anybody know where I can buy some or have some ideas on what to use thanks gareth
RogerH
Hi Gareth, angle iron is often used. B&Q or any fencing outlet Roger
qkingston
I used right angle Dexion Bar, seems to have worked well during the rebuild Rgds David
Geko
I choose not to brace, just left the doors on with the striking plates and strapped the doors together while removing the body. Then the body laid flat on pallets with some raised blocks for the rear section of the body preventing strain at the junctures between A post and sills when the doors were removed. stillp
I used some 1" square steel tube from an old roadside sign, hammered flat at the ends and bent to fit. Pete

rvwp
Hi Gareth, Make sure you fix the bracing bars on the inside of the body so that the doors can still be fitted with the bars in place during any refurbishment. Having removed the body for rebuild on two TR6's and a TR4A, my advice would be to leave the braces on if all all possible until the body is back on the chassis! Don't forget to make a note of the body to chassis packing pieces for future reference as a good starting point when re-uniting. Rich
