TR4A bonnet badge

Recommended Posts

When we had the TR4A plastic front badge (708837) re-sourced in the 1980's we used the original factory drawing to get it right.  The only bit I remember was that the sea area was described as 'polychromatic blue'.  The land should be a red colour.

Same colouring plastic badge was used on the hub cap centres of Triumph 1300/Toledo cars - not the same badge though.

Polychromatic blue was apparently also used on Evinrude engines in the '50s - If wrong do not shoot the messenger!

My original bonnet badge had already faded significantly over 30 years ago. I repainted it then with suitable Humbrol enamel paints, which must have superb UV resistance since the badge still appears much as the lower image in Peter's post.
