InfinityJon
Which Gear stick with OD switch from other Triumphs drops straight into a 76 US spec gearbox with JType OD?
BlueTR3A-5EKT
Stag or Triumph saloon/estate Or Dolomite Sprint but all I think are longer than the TR original If you are stuck I have a long gearstick in the garage that is for overdrive cars but No knob and switch though. Peter W Non TR gear levers are quite a lot longer and quite a bit different in angle from a genuine one. In the photo, the one on the left is from a TR6 and the one on the right from a stag/saloon/sprint - unfortunately I can't remember which model it came from nor do I know if the non TR models are all the same or different - a little but not a lot of help! Hamish
They do a gear knob and switch for the Healey which is popular. https://www.bighealey.co.uk/overdrive-gear-lever-knob-grouped i have a little momentary switch on the dash on my 3a. Works very well with hands on the wheel changes. don’t know if the 6 will have the spacing to allow this. spot the overdrive changes in one of my videos.
stuart
When I had the switch on the stick I cut and shut the top section of a saloon lever to the bottom of my 4a lever so it ended up the same length as original. Stuart.

Peter W Strange I'm pretty sure my TR box has an old GT6 gear-stick with switch that I had cut down & welded 25 years ago. I will check my stick and see if it still has the weld. BlueTR3A-5EKT
Yes you can cut the top half of a GT6 or MGB gearstick with the overdrive switch and knob assembly off that stick and weld it to a TR stick. It is the bit that fits in the gearbox remote that is not the same between GT6 & TR or MGB come to that. Cheers Peter W Edited June 19, 2020 by BlueTR3A-5EKT
