Hi Jase,

short answer is no, the screws should hold the inner wing to the outer wing.

It may be that a previous owner tried to 'Flatten' the inner wing, though it should not be necessary.

I too wondered about the nuts and bolts through the wheelarch?

I think the top of the inner wing was badly rusted, & previous owner riveted a strip of metal to give the outer wings something to connect to.

is that filler covering the join ??

(I did just this in the 1970's :ph34r:)   All correct now though.

Yep my TR4A has pop rivets in the same position, they fastens the wheel arch protectors on.

Thanks, so when I am ready to remove the wing I’ll need to drill these out?

There does seem to be quite a bit of filler across there which I have now chipped away, weird as it seems it was only put there to hide the screws? All the metal seems sound, guess I'll find out more when I remove one of the wings :)
