Horacehoare
Hello folks, Can anyone show me a photo or give me some dimensions as to where the bracket goes that is welded to the inner wing to take the telescopic boot stay on my TR4. Thanks Cheers Phill Hoare

DaveB66
Hi Here's another photo showing how the bracket fits with the inner wing, mine is the same distance from the boot corner as Nigel shows. Dave
Horacehoare
Thanks very much NigelH and Dave, thats perfect! Regards Phill
rcreweread
Guys - just be aware the very early TR4s didn't have a telescopic stay, but simple rod which you unclipped from the boot frame and placed in a hole a bit like modern car bonnet stays - unfortunately have no pics or details to help, so not much help really! DaveB66
Hi Rich Thanks for pointing that out, it had passed me by even though the handbook with the car mentions the stay rather than the telescopic. As my TR4 is a mid January 1962 build with a CT3*** commission number I presume it should have had a fixed stay and a PO has presumably upgraded it to the telescopic stay sometime in its life. Horacehoare
Thanks for that Rich, mine is a 1964 so presumably would have the telescopic type originally. I'm just finishing off a very lengthy restoration and in one of the boxes it came in was the stay itself but no bracket. I'm trying to make a new one and needed to make sure it goes in the correct position! If anyone has an old one laying about that is surplus to requirements (Bracket not stay) I'd be very interested!! Thanks again guys Phill
