AarhusTr6
Hi all I have carpet up and found these which I think is interior lights but the colours dont fit, car is a CC from 1970. The purple is always live. Any ideas please? Can see this on the wiring diagram Richard
cp25616
Hi Richard You are quite correct in saying the purple wire is live. This live wire has 3 functions. It carries power from the fusebox that feeds the glovebox light , then feeds the interior light (which you have sent a pic of the wiring required) and then ends up feeding the boot light itself. The purple and white wire goes to both door switches ( evidently with a double connector somewhere) so when the doors are opened the interior light comes on. The black wire is a common earth. Stephen H
Hi Richard I have a 1972 CC car and they are for the interior light. Regards Stephen
AarhusTr6
Okay, thanks, but the boot and glovebox lights also still work, or is this a split off those? Richard
Stephen H
Hi Richard yes the boot light still works. My glovebox light was missing so I had to separately wire that up. Regards Stephen
