Hi,

I believe it is off a 2.5pi saloon car.

Kind Regards,

Dave from a sunny hot and still  locked down country.

MM is a 2500 saloon/estate engine number, from a 2500TC or S. It's a carburetor engine with twin SU HS6s. Any idea whether your engine has been tuned, or built to TR spec?

This engine in standard form makes about 105 bhp and is easy to tune for a reliable 140 bhp. More info on engine numbers can be found here:

Thanks. Yes I believe the engine was built for the car. I have limited info on it but it's PI, and was told it had the following, tr5 cam, roller rockers, stage 2 head, ported and gas flowed, electronic ignition, cooling fan deleted( thermo fan installed) and what looks like a fairly decent set of stainless extracts into single stainless exhaust of a large diameter. The fuel pump in the boot is listed as mid 70's porsche 911 by the numbers on it?

Welcome to the forums Stephan

You could purchase a heritage certificate from the British Motor Museum.   That would tell you the engine number from when the car was built.  Of course the engine may have been changed since then........
