apparently Halfords don’t stock the  blinker fluid for pre 1971 cars.

Thats right Hamish, and if you use the synthetic type on our old cars then the indicators flash too rapidly

Not only that, it doesn't have the necessary ZTTP for old-style bulbs and will cause premature wear and failure of the filaments.

I've found topping up with Glenfiddich works well. (For me and the indicators!). :)
