mark_smugglers
Over the next few days I’m going to tackle installing the seals for the door windows. I’m aware from prior threads it’s not easy and also aware I need to make a tool. Door cards are off as I’m rebuilding the whole doors- plus the interior. Quick Q. Is it easier to do the inner ones before outer, or vice versa? Or doesn’t it really make much difference? Just thought I’d ask those that have already done it. Thanks Mark
RogerH
Hi Mark, for me it does not make much difference which goes first. Make sure you have the window insitu and working properly. The outer rubber has recesses in the rubber where the clips go For the inner fluffy strip the clips go on first and the strip pops on. Make a clip fitting tool from a 3/4" strip of mild steel. 'J' shape. Make the hook of the J tight enough to to keep the clip vertical but loose enough to expand slightly when being pulled up. Put a nice loop in the end to put your finger through to pull up. Andy Moltu
No need to make a tool. If you have a spare front lower wishbone shim (that you use for setting the camber) it will work quite nicely to sit the weatherseal clip in.

You must have some very bent ones then as in standard form they only have a small right angle lip. Stuart.
