Fireman049
I have a few SU Piston Springs which have no colour coding on them. What is the best way to determine their weight? Tom.
Motorsport Mickey
Place on a set of kitchen scales and use a flat area, book or other against a rule pushing downwards so you can read off the oz push required to reduce the length by 1" then refer to the SU spring tables. RobH
The Burlen site says: Our SU reference Catalogue gives details on the load ratings of each spring. The easiest way to measure this is to cut a piece of card to fit inside the spring which is the correct length for the load to be added. Then place the spring (and card) onto a suitable measuring scale and compress until the top of the spring is level with the card, then read the load rating.
