trchris
does anyone paint the inside of the block before fitting liners and if so with what ? I've cleaned the rust as much as possible and am happy with result however was wondering if to paint whilst I'm waiting for the crank to be returned from machine shop or is it a waste of time? Dic Doretti
I use Glyptal from Frosts, it is oil resistant and is useful in dealing with any porousity or pin holes in a repaired sump. I think the blocks were originally coated in this in the factory but not sure about the water ways. Cheers Richard

Chris No... dangerous. The liners rely upon unfettered surface to surface STEEL contact to help shed the heat into the block and then waterjacket. Leave it alone.
