MVC 575 has been 'saved' (from what it doesn't say!)  by

the British Motor Museum.

Same word "saved", used for works of art, saved for the nation, saved by tax payers, in that case. Meaning the object has a heritage value, and rightfully belongs, as part of national heritage. Its alienation through sale, constituting a loss. So, saved from a loss of automotive heritage or geographic and cultural alienation.
