stillp
Caught the end of that, on Freeview. Such a shame the pilot passed away without seeing it fly again. Pete

Once saw a documentary about Lancasters ( my fav plane). What stuck in my mind was the narrators comment in that the pilot was able to fly this fully laden bomber but couldn't drive a car ( no licence ). We owe a lot to those who served in all the armed forces in Ww2,and in conflicts since. My grand parents never spoke of what they did in the war. The Only thing my gran said was" the bloody Germans bombed our pub" They lived in London. We have a lot to be thankful for.

The buggers also blew up my granny's corner shop in the East End, I am told she was very cross for quite a few days, I should add that I also had family that were on the receiving end of the Lancaster's main job and heartily agreed "we have a lot to be thankful for" George
