Z320
BTW, shure you know, I have videos on my Youtube channel about my old and new timing chain. This is abot the old one: Next is the new IWIS chain Last one I a check after 13.000 km because of bad stories about the chain tensior BTW I used the old and original sprockets, in my opionion because in oil bath they are good for 2 - 3 chains And before someone asks, under the bolts I use Nordlock washers Cioa, Marco Edited February 22, 2020 by Z320
John L
Thanks for all the extra information, but where can I buy a better the quality chain? Are the new spring tensioners any good or is there a better one to look for? As Marco says above the sprockets aren't that worn, just need a new chain and tensioner. Waldi
Hi John, I have the “heavy duty” version from Chris Witor, that is a Wippermann chain: https://www.chriswitor.com/proddetail.php?prod=145870HD I ordered 2 new spanners from different suppliers; if your old one is not too worn I would use that. That’s what I did in the end. Waldi

jerrytr5
You can try https://the-chain-man.co.uk/ The website is bike orientated but I got my last quality timing chain from him. Racetorations have an uprated tensioner but I have no personal experience of this http://www.racetorations.co.uk/triumph-c56/tr5-tr250-c7/tr5-engine-c17/tr5-250-engine-timing-gear-c211/racetorations-uprated-timing-chain-tensioner-6-cylinder-p1391 Jerry

BlueTR3A-5EKT
I realise this is for a single row chain but has any one ever tried to use on a TR as a tandem pair perhaps? http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/Engine/Block/Timing/12G2621.aspx?100113&ReturnUrl=/search/classic/12G2621.aspx|Back to search Cheers Peter W PS Do the TR racing boys drill their Cam Timing sprocket for lightness, as the Mini racers do? http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/Engine/Block/Timing/C-AJJ3325.aspx?100113&ReturnUrl=/product/Classic/Engine/Block/Timing/12G2621.aspx|Back to Edited February 22, 2020 by BlueTR3A-5EKT
