Cantrails - last chance!

Recommended Posts

CANTRAILS FOR FACTORY TR2/3/3A/3B HARDTOPS

For those who are perplexed, these are the alloy gutters fitted to the sides of the hardtop to direct rainwater away from the sidescreens and/or the pilot and passenger!  Part numbers 802611 (LH) and 802612 (RH).

These parts were not available for a considerable time, but club member Ian Smith, who has restored a factory hardtop, found a supplier who was able to make these parts.  In response to an advert in 2015 in TR Action and on the TR Register’s Forum, Ian received orders and then organised production and despatch of 15 sets.

Ian thought that he had satisfied the worldwide demand for cantrails, but it seems not, as he has received yet more requests!

This is the VERY LAST CHANCE to procure a set of cantrails, by contacting Ian via the email below (I saw him at the Group's monthly meeting and he said that he won't do this again!).

Ian has received 18 requests (more than the first time round!) and is about to place an order for the production run.

The estimated cost per set (of  two, left & right) will be approximately £75, plus P&P and VAT.  Although somewhat unwieldy, cantrails can be (and were) shipped by Ian to TR enthusiasts around the  world.

If interested, please e-mail Ian on: trcantrails@yahoo.co.uk

N.B. There should be a similar notification in TR Action 319, but my copy has yet to fall through the letterbox.

Email from Ian Smith this morning with some amazing news:

Had 2 more orders this week. Final total is 29 orders for a total 39 sets. Mostly uk but Australia,USA, Germany, and one order to Poland of 3 sets.

All sent bar one , still awaiting address.

It has taken a little longer at the end due to the current situation.

Added to the earlier production of some 15 sets, Ian has performed a magnificent service for a great many owners, and his efforts deserve the highest praise.  I'm beginning to think that some owners must be treating cantrails rather like paintings or other art objects, and putting them on the walls or in the lounge (definitely a talking point)!
