Morning.

Malbaby yes the camshaft bearings have been replaced as new camshaft has been installed,

Mick I don’t know as its being built by a engine specialist, I will enquire on Monday when I visit. (They have a open house policy ) I had to supply new bolts as the existing ones had stretched.

ps just getting ready for a run down to Stoneleigh.

The engine builder may already have read the Mad Marx oil seal instructions or have done it all before, in which case this post is irrelevant to you.

The original bolts that attach the flywheel protrude through the crank flange and may touch the new oil seal assy.

I have reduced the bolts to 0.835" shank length to suit my old slave crank and spare flywheel (hence the dirt and rust) bolt protrusion before and after in one photo.  Loctite will be used instead of lock tabs.

3 bolts compared old, original in centre. reduced length original one side and ARP bolt the other.

Cheers

I concur it does look fabulous. I particularly like the photo of the rockers in copper and everything beautifully shiny clean. I can't say mine is going to be that beautiful, nor with waiting for the machine shop is it happening as quickly (..just a hint of frustration).

Note to self..  to get one of those oil filter adapters.

I look forward to installation piccies and thereafter more photos of road trips.

All the very best

it will probably take couple of weeks to fit and test as next week is the school holidays and we have the grandchildren.

Hi Mike

don't waste the opportunity! get them to polish the engine bay prior to install. They can probably stand up inside the bay and those little hands can reach more than yours:D

Engine looks great.

Well this morning is the start of reinstalling the rebuilt engine, to start with rewrapping the 4 branch, then dropping the engine in, it may have been a little easier with two but I got there in the end, do a little more tomorrow morning.
