james christie
Drewmotty hasĀ good point. Fifty years ago, didnātĀ we all / most of us want to modify our cars to look something like this. I recall that Ā£sd was the problem.... Now weĀ have become purists and even the poor guy who nowadays paints hisĀ car in a non-original colour is shot down in flames from a greatĀ height! james Ā

They were trendsetters then, mid 1950-ies.:) Waldi

John. Isn't that what Alex Issigonis did to the Morris Minor, cut it down the middle, then add 4" to the width? Apparently it transformed the car. Compare it to the A30/35 for example. All been done before. Mick
Paul Hogan
Yes he did Mick,Ā Ā Of course the bumbers also had to made wider but they had already produced 1000,s of them so they just had a chrome plated cover made to conceal the joint.Ā As for any Americans widening a TR3 by cutting it down the middle I think it would have been better and cheaperĀ if they just cut down the calories instead!Ā OrĀ am I now being non PC by saying that?Ā Hoges.Ā
